ABOUT.

Flo Litchfield, also known as Flolux, is an Edinburgh-based artist specialising in immersive site-specific installations using light and sound.

She is interested in the connections between geographical sites, ecology and anthropology. The work is often situated in and responds to public spaces, investigating place through the use of archives and community engagement to excavate oral histories such as interviews and field recordings.

Drawing inspiration from folklore, ancient philosophies and personal narratives, she intricately weaves the stories of places and people into her installations.

Flolux's work has been featured in Collected Light Vol. 2: International Women Light Artists and commissioned for landmark public projects, including Lancaster Castle and Clarence Dock; one of England’s vast derelict post-industrial sites. Her work has been shown at the Alchemy Film Festival and Light Night Leeds, the UK’s largest international light festival.

Flolux's experience as a laser technician and sound therapist informs her practise, bringing technical skills to her interest in Acoustic Ecology, creating layered works that respond to the history and identity of sites.
